St Mary's Gate Retail Park in Rochdale is home to a host of businesses including big-name tenants, Dunelm and Carpetright. The site is owned by Manchester-based company, Glenbrook Property.
Both the tenants and landlords wanted to enhance the site by adding more EV charging points but were reluctant to lose any of its 240 parking bays by installing space-hungry charging equipment. They were also keen to increase footfall, unlock new revenue streams and attract more customers to the retail park and approached us for a tailored solution.
The main challenge was to find a location on site where we could secure power and be spatially efficient. But by carrying out detailed data mapping and spatial analysis and working in partnership with Glenbrook, our design and technical teams found the perfect solution.
The site now houses 8 Ultra Rapid charging bays, a new substation and load-balancing equipment, all powered by 100% renewable energy and fully funded by us.
Using only the best charging hardware on the market, we continue to monitor usage data at the site and are on hand to help Glenbrook grow it's EV charging offering in line with customer demand.
