The challenge? 

With over 140,000 vehicles passing daily through Junction 9 of the M6, Gallagher Retail Park sits at a high-traffic crossroads of commuter, retail, and regional travel. Yet despite this prime location, the area lacked public ultra-rapid EV infrastructure to meet growing demand for fast, accessible charging.

Wesleyan, the Birmingham-based mutual managing £7.6bn in assets, saw an opportunity. They aimed to create a flagship, revenue- generating, future-ready asset that would elevate their first retail site acquisition and set a standard for their £450m commercial portfolio.

They partnered with Be.EV to:

  • Deliver ultra-rapid EV charging for real-world demand

  • Transform underused space into a new income stream

  • Support ESG targets and investor expectations

  • Boost tenant appeal and site visibility

The Be.EV solution

Be.EV partnered with Wesleyan to deliver a high- performance, design-led, 16-bay ultra-rapid EV charging hub.

The project delivered £704,000 of EV infrastructure – at no cost to Wesleyan – transforming the site’s car park
into a flagship low-carbon asset.
