The team behind Be.EV is making waves beyond the UK, winning its first international award last week.
Be.EV was awarded Transport Project of the Year in the Partnerships Awards for its work with Transport for Greater Manchester to expand EV charging provision across GM’s ten local authorities, pipping projects from around the world to the post.
The judges highlighted the project’s role in developing a partnership and project finance model for public EV charging that makes it a trailblazer for future projects in this space.
The award was presented to the wider project team, which includes DLA Piper, Abundance Investments, TfGM, and Swarco.
Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV said: “It’s incredible to win an international award for a project that is very much rooted in the local communities of Greater Manchester. But it is a proud example of effective partnership working across the public and private sectors. Together we’ve shown that infrastructure can be done differently and can be done better. A big thanks to the whole team!”
