Stockport’s biggest Charging Hub goes live

Our debut site with Decathlon (their largest in the UK), and the largest ultra-rapid Charging Hub in Stockport is now live!

Just a stone's throw from Junction 1 of the M60, this brand new 15 bay Charging Hub is set to become the destination for drivers looking to power-up and experience electric adventures.

Switched on and available for use, Decathlon Stockport is now home to 15 ultra-rapid (up to 150kW) charging bays, including one fully-accessible PAS:1899 compliant and joins the north’s largest public EV charging network that connects communities nationwide and boasts impressive reliability.

The site receives up to 20,000 visitors per week and is located minutes from the M60, where the nearest road sees an average of over 87,000 vehicles a day.

Stockport has close to 2,700 registered electric vehicles, drivers of which will be able to charge their car whilst commuting or visiting the retailer.

Charged-Up Stockport

In true Be.EV style, we gave this new Charging Hub a warm, green welcome as we brought our Charged-Up event series to Stockport!

Drivers had the chance to get 50% off their charging sessions and experience electric adventures by getting behind the wheel of a Porsche Taycan courtesy of Porsche Centre Stockport, jumping on an e-bike for a quick spin, trying their hand at Soul Padel and exploring the world of EVs with Octopus Electric Vehicles.

The ultra-rapid chargers can add up to 165 miles of range in a short 20-minute stop (compared to several hours on a 7kW fast charger) - a solution that matches Decathlon’s customer dwell time of approximately 30 minutes.

Part of a wider deal and contributing to Decathlon’s Transition 2026 plan, this Charging Hub marks the first step on an electric transition that will see us deliver ultra-rapid charging to select stores nationwide – starting with the Stockport community.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO and founder of Be.EV, said: ”It’s an honour to bring ultra-rapid, ultra-convenient EV charging to Decathlon shoppers, and provide Stockport with a new, reliable way to charge their vehicle.

“Charging hubs like these are required nationwide if the country is to successfully transition to cleaner transport, and Decathlon is leading the way when it comes to EV charging in the EV space.

“Other retailers should take note. As more and more people choose to drive EVs, they’ll naturally gravitate to destinations where they can conveniently charge their car whilst shopping.”

Liam Fillingham, Real Estate Leader at Decathlon, added: "Decathlon aims to move people through the wonders of sport with a strong focus on sustainability.

“The Stockport site is a great example of this in action. Not only do we have a fantastic store with many eco designed products and services, now we also have our partners Be.EV and Soul Padel.
